Turkish Minister of Economy Zafer Caglayan urged on Monday for Canadian companies to invest in Turkey.
Caglayan attended the dinner hosted by Turkish-Canadian Business Council under Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK).
Reminding the trading volume between Turkey and Canada was around $500 million in 2002, he said the number quadrupled in the last 4 years.
Turkish minister stated that the total foreign trade volume between two countries almost reached $1.5 trillion and said the number was so low for countries having that big capacities of foreign trade.
Joint Economic and Trade Committee will help increase the trading volume between two countries as well as finding solutions to the existing problems, Caglayan said.
He called on Canadian companies to search for the incentive system in Turkey, and added collaboration with the third countries was vitally important.
